Betty Joyce Snelson

Betty Joyce Snelson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, great-great-great-grandmother, aunt, and a loving woman of our Heavenly Father, passed away surrounded by love and her family. Betty was born in Hillsboro, Texas there she met her husband Richard Snelson where they joined as husband and wife to start a family with one daughter Lana, two boys Bennie, and Gary, later they moved to Pasadena Texas; then they continue having a growing family with Ricky, Randy, Donny, and Regina; later they to move to Kyle, Texas to enjoy to remaining years in life. She was the cherished daughter of the late William and Violet Allen. Throughout her life, she embodied kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She will be remembered as a loving and caring woman who was always there for anyone in need of support, encouragement, or comfort. Betty Joyce Snelson dedicated her life to her family and home. She was a devoted housewife and later worked for many years as a housekeeper and nanny to another loving family in Kyle, Texas, where she was deeply appreciated for her hard work, loyalty, and nurturing spirit. In her early years, while raising her children, she still found time to stand faithfully beside her husband, Richard, actively supporting the Salvation Army Church and participating in women’s camp for many years. Her faith guided her life and touched everyone who knew her. Even in her later years, her strength and independence never faded. At 84 years young, she was still push-mowing her own lawn and tending lovingly to her flower garden—something that brought her great joy and pride. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Violet Allen, husband Richard Snelson; sons Donny Snelson, Bennie Snelson, and Ricky Snelson; son-in-law Clyde Currey; daughter-in-law Doris Snelson; grandsons Terry Currey and Richard Lee Snelson; and her brothers Ernie Allen and Rayford Allen. She is survived by her daughters Lana Currey, Regina Shipley and Husband Tim Eastwood; her sons Gary Snelson and Randy Snelson; Daughter-in-laws Evelyn Snelson, Barbara Snelson, and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and extended family members who will continue to carry her love forward. Above all, Betty Joyce Snelson will be remembered as one of the most loving and caring people you could ever meet—a woman whose heart was always open and whose presence brought comfort, warmth, and peace. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will live on through all who were blessed to know her. A celebration of life is being arranged.
